FAQ

What is eSIM?

eSIM is an embedded SIM card compatible with most modern smartphones, tablets and smart devices. Physically, it is a chip inside the smartphone that receives the carrier's signal. In fact, eSIM is a slot for virtual SIM cards and you can switch between them in the phone's settings.

What devices support eSIM?

Here's a list of devices: show supported devices

Can I install the same eSIM on multiple devices?

You can only install an eSIM on one device. But you can share internet from your eSIM.

How long does it take to install eSIM with a QR code?

We send an eSIM QR code once you purchase. You receive it almost instantly after the payment.

It takes about 5 minutes to activate eSIM. Here are some recommendations for a successful eSIM activation on your device:

  • Connect to a stable Internet source (preferably Wi-Fi network at home or in a hotel);
  • Scan the QR code with the device that you will be using while traveling to access the internet;
  • Follow the further setup steps on your device.

If there's no way to scan the QR (for example, you received it on the same device you are going to install it on), you'll have to copy and paste the settings manually. Usually it takes the same amount of time.

Can I restore eSIM?

Yes, you can reinstall the eSIM on the same device up to five times.

How to top up the eSIM?

eSIM has fixed traffic packages with a fixed validity period. It's the same process as the purchase, but instead of a new eSIM, the package is added to the current active Just eSIM. Keep in mind that the new package is not added to the current one: each package has its own remaining traffic and validity period.

Note: if you try to top up the eSIM that has been removed or has not been installed yet, your money will go nowhere and you will have to get a refund via tech support.

When does data package activation start?

The eSIM validity period starts on the first connection to the Internet, i.e. upon your arrival to the destination country which you purchased the package for.

Downloading eSIM settings is not considered an activation, but it helps save time after you land at your destination. The activation itself takes 5 minutes, but still you need to find a Wi-Fi network. And if you download eSIM in advance, you can use it as soon as you get to your destination.

Warning: the following issue at the border may occur. For example, if you purchase and set up a package for Spain in Andorra, your eSIM may connect to the Spanish carrier and be activated ahead of time as the state border is too close and the coverage area may cross it.

Is there an eSIM for the country I want?

Almost certainly!
Just eSIM operates in more than 150 countries and regions!

What are payment methods?

We accept only international cards VISA, Mastercard, American Express and UnionPay.

When should I install eSIM if I'm going on a trip?

The most obvious approach is to install eSIM at home the day before departure, using either the home carrier's network or Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, once you arrive at your destination, you will have to find a Wi-Fi network, which is not always convenient.

Installing eSIM means downloading the settings using a QR code or entering the settings manually. Activation will occur once you arrive at your destination, when the SIM card connects to the local carrier.

What happens to unused traffic when the package runs out?

Just eSIM data packages are only valid within the term and data volume specified at purchase. When the validity period expires, the remaining traffic is canceled.

Can I use my phone as a hotspot to share traffic?

Yes, we do not limit traffic sharing to other devices. This is especially relevant when sharing traffic with a laptop or a device that does not support eSIM.

Can I install Just eSIM if I have an eSIM from my home carrier?

Yes, of course, most smartphones support multiple eSIMs. You will be able to switch between these eSIMs.

Can I use the same eSIM on another trip?

Yes, you can buy packages for different countries on the same eSIM. You should not delete the eSIM after the trip, only turn off it. You will be able to turn on the eSIM before your trip. Important: You will need to purchase packages on separate eSIMs for multiple phones.

How do I optimise my traffic consumption?

Almost all smartphone manufacturers provide mechanisms for optimizing data usage. You can check the details in your phone’s settings or consult the manufacturer’s support service. Below are the most common methods:

iPhone:

  1. Restrict internet access for specific apps:
Go to Settings → Cellular, and disable mobile internet for apps you rarely use or those that consume a lot of data.
  2. Enable Low Data Mode:
In Settings → Cellular → Just eSIM, activate the Low Data Mode option to reduce data consumption.
  3. Turn off Wi-Fi Assist:
In the same Cellular settings, disable the Wi-Fi Assist feature to prevent your phone from switching to mobile data when the Wi-Fi connection is weak.
  4. Check iCloud synchronization settings:
Ensure that iCloud synchronization is configured optimally to avoid unnecessary data transfers.

Samsung:

  1. Enable Data Saver mode:
Open Settings → Connections → Data Usage → Data Saver, and activate this feature to limit background data usage.
  2. Restrict mobile data for specific apps:
Go to Settings → Apps, select an app, and in the Mobile Data and Wi-Fi section, disable Mobile Data for that app.
  3. Disable automatic app updates:
Open Google Play Store → Menu (three lines) → Settings, select Auto-update apps, and choose Over Wi-Fi only or Don’t auto-update apps.
  4. Turn off background data for certain apps:
In Settings → Apps, select an app, go to Mobile Data, and turn off Allow background data usage.
  5. Limit data synchronization:
Open Settings → Accounts and Backup → Manage Accounts, and disable automatic synchronization for accounts where it’s not needed.
  6. Disable automatic video playback:
In apps like YouTube or social media, adjust the Autoplay Videos option to work only on Wi-Fi or turn it off entirely.
  7. Turn off Adaptive Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Assist):
Go to Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi → Advanced, and disable the Switch to mobile data option to prevent your phone from using mobile data when the Wi-Fi signal is weak.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage your data usage and reduce unnecessary expenses.
